Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Honda CR-V- Video
Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer.com. Today, we're taking a look at the Yakima StageTwo on our 2022 Honda CR-V. The StageTwo is a platform style bike rack that holds the bike in these trays, and primarily, by our front wheel up here. It's gonna mean zero frame contact, make it good for carbon frame and alternative frame bikes, and with a 70 pound weight capacity per bike, good for our e-bikes too and even some of the heavier ones. 60 pounds tends to be the standard for a lot of e-bike racks, so it's great to see when one goes a little bit above and beyond for those heavier bikes. Now, like many other bike racks in this class, we have the ability to tilt away with the bikes loaded. more

The SuperClamp is going to be a platform style bike rack, holding the bike in these cradles, and primarily, by the tires. We've got a wheel hook on either tire, and some secondary points of contact in those cradles, just some wheel straps holding it down in place. and that's gonna give us a really solid hold of the bike in the bike rack. It holds a bike in these wheel hoops at the bottom and primarily holding it in place with this frame hook up top. That's gonna hold it down in those wheel hoops and keep it secure. This is gonna be a hanging style rack that holds a bike by the frame up here in these cradles. We've got held down with these two straps on top and a third one around the seat post to act as our anti-sway cradle. That's gonna limit the side to side movement of the bike a little bit and help with bike to bike contact. more

This is a platform style bike rack that holds the bike in these trays and primarily with a cradle up here on the frame. It's gonna have a strap run around the frame that keeps it in the cradle, and it's gonna hold it, actually really well. We've got two secondary points of contact on each wheel these wheel straps that pull it down and in . Because it makes frame contact, we do wanna avoid carbon frame bikes because that can damage the frame. more

CURT Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Honda CR-V- Video
Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer.com and today we're taking a look at the Curt Premium four bike rack on our 2022 Honda CR-V. Now the Curt Premium is a hanging style rack which means the bike hangs by the frame. We've got two straps over the frame at the top here keeping it down in the cradles. And the third one on the seat post, the seat post strap is gonna limit that side to side movement. It's still there, but it does help limit it and reduce bike to bike contact or in some cases even bike to vehicle contact. You can see our front tire doesn't really wanna sit still right here so I might consider adding a cam buckle strap from the tire to the frame just to keep it still. more

This'll be a good choice for those of you that might just start to get into riding, or don't go all that often, just more of an economical choice, which could be appropriate for a lot of people. So the OnRamp is a platform-style bike rack designed for those heavier E-bikes with a 66 pound capacity. So there's two different types of bike rack options on the market. We have the platform style, which was what this is and we have the hanging style. Now the hanging style are good, they're still good options. They're usually pretty lightweight, so they're easy to get on and off the vehicle, but one big downside to those is number one, they can't carry heavy bikes. more

Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today, on our 2022 Honda Pilot, we're gonna be checking out the Swagman XC2 Platform Style Bike Rack. First impressions of the rack on the back of the Honda, really simple, not a whole lot to it. This is gonna be a great choice for those of you that are kind of just getting started or don't really go riding, you know, a whole lot. If you're someone that's out hitting the trails every weekend or a couple times a week, something like that, you know there's some other racks out there that'll probably be a better choice for you. I'm a big fan of the Kuat Platform Style Racks, just about any of them are really good, but that's not a takeaway from this. more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2022 Honda Pilot- Video
Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer, today on our 2022 Honda Pilot we're gonna be checking out the Thule Hitching Post Pro, Hitch Mount Bike Rack. First impression of the rack on the back of the Honda, I think it looks good, this Thule rack kinda has a timeless design if you ask me, so, you know, and honestly just about any type of accessory you put on the back of the pilot looks right at home, but this could be a great way to get a lot of bikes to and from the trails so this can hold up to a total of four. And one of the great things about it is it's super easy to use and figure out and live with, you know, personal I don't want anything overly complicated or difficult and that's not the case at all with this one. With that said though, the way it's going to hold your bike down, it's gonna use three straps, so you're gonna have two straps up here and then a strap down here, what that one's gonna help do is eliminate side to side movement, of way your bike aren't banging into each other as you're going down the road. Well, why don't we go ahead just take our bike off so we can have a better look at the rack. And just pull the iron on the straps. more
